Easy Access

  1. User authentication, authorisation and administration.

In this section, you will find information on how to:

    • Register on the Technical Information website (FCA Italy RMI system).
    • Get the authorizations needed depending on your profile.
    1. Registering a company for using the FCA Italy RMI system

To register in the Technical Information site you need a VAT number and operate in the automotive repair sector (directly or indirectly).

While registering, you need to choose a user profile; for a few profiles, you need to produce evidence (as PDF file) that the business of your company is consistent with the chosen profile.

The “Registration” function can be accessed directly on the red side bar at the top right in the main screen.

    2. Registering an employee for using the FCA Italy RMI system

The ISO 18541 standard requires two registration levels: the legal representative of the company who is registering the company, and therefore the single employees may require to be registered to access the specific functions of their profile.

Since changing the registration data already present in the system would require a considerable effort, this process will start after the standard becomes mandatory.

    3. Company status maintenance

The ISO 18541 standard requires two registration levels: the legal representative of the company who is registering the company, and therefore the single employees may require to be registered to access the specific functions of their profile.

Since changing the registration data already present in the system would require a considerable effort, this process will start after the standard becomes mandatory.

    4. User status maintenance

In this section you can edit your user data, e-mail address and phone number included. You can also edit the billing address or the company name of your business. Finally, you can also edit your user profile by changing the business type (with suitable evidence as PDF file, if requested).

To access the “User data maintenance” you need to:

      1. Register.
      2. Log in, entering the username you received by e-mail and the password you chose.
      3. Select the “Your data” option in the side bar.
    5. Employee deactivation request

The ISO 18541 standard requires two registration levels: the company legal representative may ask to deactivate the single employees.

Since changing the registration data already present in the system would require a considerable effort, this process will start after the standard becomes mandatory.

    6. Logging onto the FCA Italy RMI system

In this section you can log in, if you have registered already in the site. You can also ask for your credentials if you have forgotten them.

      1. Login

        2. E-mail address associated with your profile. In this case, you will receive a message containing the username associated with the e-mail address.
    7. Providing access to safety-related RMI

The ISO 18541 standard states specific requirements for accessing safety-related information or SERMI (SEcurity RMI).

These functions are not implemented yet because the requirement definition process is still underway.

  2. RMI payment

If you have already registered in the site, in this section you can purchase subscriptions for accessing the repair and service information online. You can also purchase material offline on USB flash drives. Finally, you can purchase software packages to be used with a VCI ISO22900 or SAE J2534 for updating ECUs.

This section option is available for compatible ECUs only. In this case, the system will ask to select which of the two protocols to use.
        12. If there is a VCI and it is connected and recognised by the FCA application, the system checks if the ECU management software (1 GB of data) is already installed in the user's PC.
